Tab Trade - Is It Worth Opening an Account

The Broker - The Short Version

Tab Trade opened in March 2026. CFD broker based in Saint Lucia, under Saint Lucia's FSRA. The person who started it is Benjamin Boulter. Before this, he was a senior exec at BlackBull Markets, the New Zealand-regulated broker.

The BlackBull connection is relevant. It suggests the founder is not figuring it out from scratch. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. It is better than someone with no brokerage experience.

They launched with Equinix data centre access in London. Same infrastructure banks and hedge funds use. Most new brokers starts with a white-label MT4 setup. These guys led with infrastructure. Interesting choice.

What you can trade: FX, indices, metals, oil, energies, softs, equities, crypto, ETFs. A wide spread. For a platform that is a few months old, that range is not narrow.

What You Trade On

You get: MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and a WebTrader. Both platforms from the same login. Most brokers only give you one or the other. Having both is useful. Use whichever you prefer.

MetaTrader 5 is what most people know. Full charting, EAs, massive community. If you have traded on a MetaQuotes platform previously, you know exactly what you are getting.

cTrader is the cleaner option. Cleaner order book. Smoother chart interaction. cBot support. A lot of traders find it more natural once they try it.

FIX API is there for algo traders but needs the VIP tier ($25k minimum). TradingView charting is said to be coming. That will make the platform set when it arrives.

What You Pay

Three levels: Standard, Edge, VIP.

Standard. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. No commission. Simple. $0 to start. Good for beginners.

Edge account. True raw pricing from 0.0 pips on average. Commission of $3.50 each way. What you actually pay: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the actual interbank spread is frequently a fraction of a pip. Meaning your real cost can sit under half a pip. That is cheap for a broker with $0 to start. Most platforms that run raw pricing at this level ask for $500 or $1,000 upfront. This broker does not.

VIP. $25,000 minimum. FIX API, sub-20ms execution, custom pricing. Not for the average person. Skip it unless you trade institutionally.

How Fast Are the Fills

The execution is where TabTrade actually does something different. Equinix LD4/LD5. Sub-30ms execution on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. That is not marketing fluff. The average platform run 100ms to 300ms.

Does it matter? If you scalp, it does. The gap between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is catching the move or missing it. If you hold positions longer, it matters less. The point is the setup is serious. That says what kind of broker this is.

Combine that execution speed with 0.0 pip spreads and $7 round-turn and what you get makes sense. Few brokers at this price point run Equinix connectivity.

Regulation

Now, the thing you need to be straight about. Tab Trade is regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is tier-3. No CySEC. No government-backed safety net. If that makes you uncomfortable, stop reading. Plenty of ASIC-licensed brokers out there.

That said. Benjamin Boulter spent years at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker. The server placement costs real money. Fly-by-night platforms do not invest in Equinix connectivity. This does not guarantee anything. It does inform your assessment.

What you are accepting: you give up tier-1 protection. For that: high leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, $0 to start, fast fills. Whether the trade-off is worth it depends on you.

Welcome Offer

Tab Trade runs bonus funds of up to $2,000. Typical sign-up bonus. You deposit, they add bonus funds. Usual conditions attached: minimum lots traded before you can withdraw the bonus. Read the conditions before funding.
